Wicked Lauren Conrad
So months ago Christine got a group together to see Wicked at the Orpheum. Originally you could only purchase the entire Orpheum season or get a group of 20 for Wicked. I think Christine got 34 people, mainly girls to go to this show. We ended up seeing 3 of the 4 in the season (Color Purple and Legally Blonde too). I originally was bringing Tony, but found out he might be one of the only guys, so thank goodness Tami was available to bring :) Christine had a great preWicked party at her house, her Witch Mojitos were perfect and yummy.
I think I agreed to go to Wicked with Christine in January and since it was so far in advance, I had kinda forgotten about it, well the exact date, so when I bought by prebook sale ticket for LA Candy, I didn't realize it was on the same night! Oops!! So Wednesday ended up being a busy day..after preWicked partying for about 45 minutes, I was off to meet LC and get my book signed. Tami and I got there about 15 minutes before the signing started and it was already packed! Mainly by girls about 10-15 years younger than us, heck we were the age of some of the mom's there! Oh well, we still had fun. I like doing random things like that. We were in group B and only had to wait about 7 minutes.
We were not supposed to take pictures when we were in line, but I did anyway, and while taking the second one, I knocked over a display of books..oops! Let me tell you, and you can't tell in the pictures, but LC is tiny!! Her arms and shoulders seems so skinny. On her show she seems in shape and normal sized, but no, in person she is little! Well Tami and I got up there and I said, "Welcome to Memphis", she said thanks. I asked if she got to try any bbq since she arrived, she asked one of her publishers/assistants and they told her they tried Rendezvous. She said she liked it. I told her we were on our way down that way to see Wicked, and she replied, "Is that a cool club?" We explained it was the Broadway play, Wicked...And I think our time was up after that..I'm kinda bummed I didnt get any better pictures.
Once we got downtown, we got a drink at Majestic and hurried in for the show. Wicked was awesome!! It was so cool to hear the story behind the Wizard of Oz. It explained a lot of things. I will say it was pretty girlie, it was all about friendship and when I was explaining it all to Tony, I think he was glad it ended up being a girls night. So glad Christine got this all together for us! I costumes were beautiful, the acting, dancing and singing was amazing!

I saw Michael Jackson in concert when I was 7..
in Neyland Stadium. My brother Kamron waited in line at West Town mall for days it seemed, again I was 7, that was 25 years ago. The concert was in August. I remember it was huge that I got to go. Tickets were a whopping $31, and at that time it seemed so much. My family teases me that I fell asleep at some point in the concert, yep not much energy I guess at 7 years old. I had a major crush on him as everyone did and emulated his dance moves. He was one of the best performers I have ever seen, its so shocking that he is gone. We are glued to the CNN coverage, but have to catch some of the NBA draft to see what the Grizzlies do...wow!! This doesn't even seem real.
Pelham, Boleyn, Ninja Proposal
Saw 4 movies recently, 2 in the theatre and 2 at home. We have EVERY movie channel, so..I have to Tivo anything that sounds good to make sure we get our money's worth :)
OMG! Why did I not see this when it first came out!? Tony and I both loved it. Its based on a true story and the acting is amazing. Eric Bana is hot as the King! ..and its some crazy family drama, this story could totally be told in 2009 and made current.
Ok, yes we watched Ninja Cheerleaders! When I Tivoed it I read Trishelle's name and thought, what the heck, let's see what this is. Well its 3 college freshman that are cheerleaders and strip so they can get money to go to a better college, and at night they are ninjas. Bad acting, stupid story line, but like a train wreck we kept watching!

We are such randoms!
Julie, Greg, Tony and I went to Elfo's for dinner Friday night. We hadn't been back since Julie's birthday and again it was fabulous! Such good food! After dinner, Tami invited us to a house party. First of all, I haven't been to a 'house party' in a long time. This was a gorgeous house in East Memphis, and a fabulous party. Neverending wine and beer and incredible host. Everyone kept asking if we needed anything. Funny thing is, no one knew who we were. A friend of Tami's invited her and we tagged along! It was so much fun and they had a great set up complete with a band and a pool and waterfall. Anyway, it was so hot that night we hung out in their living room for awhile as seen here!

T.O. the first to go on Superstars!?
Terrell Owens loses the obstacle course to David Charvet and Dan Cortese!!?!? David Charvet that is married to Brooke Burke and was on Baywatch and Dan Cortese from 1992 MTV Sports!?! Yes, good looking guys, but to beat T.O!?! Who I thought was one of the best athletes around...crazy! Tony we forsure aren't drafting him in our Fantasy Football league, he did us wrong last year as it was...Unbelievable!
Humdinger's
We tried out Humdinger's last week in East Memphis. Humdinger's is in the old Mama Fu's spot behind Chick-Fil-A in the Poplar/Massey area. Brenda and Jared had recommended it and Courtney and I finally got a chance to try it out, and to see little Grady and how much he has grown! Humdinger's has mainly fish and some chicken entrees. I got the taco's and got one of each...Fish, Chicken and Shrimp. I think everything is very fresh and grilled. I think I liked the chicken best, the seasoning was awesome. My side was the grilled zucchini and it tasted as good as it looked. YUM! I can't wait to go back and try more!

Diane's Birthday
Kembree's Review: I liked Arnold's. I had called ahead and learned that they started out in Whitehaven, then moved out to this location and now have a new location back in Whitehaven. I spoke with Pam the owner and she assured me that this was authentic Memphis bbq since 1983 and was very surprised I had not heard of their restaurant. The sandwich was good, moist and had great sweetness of flavor. The sweet tea was also very sweet and good. It was served out of a large jar, which made it seem very Southern and authentic.
I give the sandwich a 3.5 out of 5 just for averageness. I did like that this was a woman ran bbq joint and I don't recall us visiting one like that yet.
Courtney's Review: I can't believe there are so many BBQ places in Memphis that I have never heard of...Arnolds being one of them. I had the pork sandwich
with mild sauce. The meat was fine, nothing wrong with it but nothing special either. I liked the sauce but it was very sweet. I should have asked them for some hot sauceto mix with it. The service was great. Both Pams were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
Randy's Review: I'll remember Arnold's as Diane's birthday party venue. They were very cooperative and helpful in every way. The restaurant is small but seemingly very clean. The menu was extensive and I chose the barbecue turkey sandwich. It was actually smoked breast meat that was not processed. It was very moist with a good tangy sauce. I took advantage of the lunch special which consisted of sandwich, chips, and drink. After 2 attempts to score a bag of chips that were not out of date I gave up on that portion of the lunch special. This was an average
bbq restaurant worthy of a drop by if in that area.
Diane's Review: Arnold's was an average barbeque restaurant. I had the sandwich. The sandwich was adequate and I ate it. It had too much sauce on it. I would give the place a 3. The best thing about Arnold's was my birthday party. It was great to be with everyone on my birthday. The gifts and the cheesecake were great.
Tony's Review: I had the ribs plate with slaw and beans. The ribs were actually really good.
I don't think that they were smoked, I think they were baked, then grilled, butI didn't mind it this time. The slaw and beans were good as well, just average, I did like the sauce too. The service was great. I don't remember exact details on flavor or seasoning, so that isn't a great sign, but I don't remember anything bad, so, I give Arnold's a 3 out of 5.

Patron REALLY deserved that Second Chance
Wow, this story makes me soooo happy! According to the family that is rehabbing Patron, he is a wonderful dog! So many dogs deserve this, and this family, the Kain's are wonderful to have done this! Kudos to them!! It just makes me happy that an NFL athlete cared about his dog so much he didn't want to give up on him, when there is so much negative media going on with the worst dog owner on the planet, Michael Vick. I know lots of NFL guys that have Pits and are responsible owners with children. This was just a nice story that I have enjoyed following.

The Orange and White Cat and the Attacking Bird
Rotate your computer on its side now...
Let me tell you, the other day the dogs were barking and howling and I see this orange and white cat that likes to hang around and mess with the dogs from time to time. But this time there was a bird swooping down and pecking at it. The cat never fought back and I that is what struck me as so strange. Notice at the end our blinds and the dogs jumping and going crazy and the blinds going up and down. Again..sorry for this being sideways, I won't film like this again, bc even after searching and searching, I can't figure out how to rotate these videos, but I had to share! And yes, that is Lane barking in the background the whole time, you can hear him across the street!

The Couch Spot
A typical night on our couch..Do your dogs have a special spot? Well this corner has always been Lennox's, well atleast when we aren't sitting there, and even when we do, the last picture is what we get. So now this is Lane's spot too. Atleast they share! Lennox does most of the time get the prime angle on the end so he can prop up his legs and look around the corner if someone is coming in the door.
