Wicked Lauren Conrad

So months ago Christine got a group together to see Wicked at the Orpheum. Originally you could only purchase the entire Orpheum season or get a group of 20 for Wicked. I think Christine got 34 people, mainly girls to go to this show. We ended up seeing 3 of the 4 in the season (Color Purple and Legally Blonde too). I originally was bringing Tony, but found out he might be one of the only guys, so thank goodness Tami was available to bring :) Christine had a great preWicked party at her house, her Witch Mojitos were perfect and yummy.

I think I agreed to go to Wicked with Christine in January and since it was so far in advance, I had kinda forgotten about it, well the exact date, so when I bought by prebook sale ticket for LA Candy, I didn't realize it was on the same night! Oops!! So Wednesday ended up being a busy day..after preWicked partying for about 45 minutes, I was off to meet LC and get my book signed. Tami and I got there about 15 minutes before the signing started and it was already packed! Mainly by girls about 10-15 years younger than us, heck we were the age of some of the mom's there! Oh well, we still had fun.  I like doing random things like that. We were in group B and only had to wait about 7 minutes.
We were not supposed to take pictures when we were in line, but I did anyway, and while taking the second one, I knocked over a display of books..oops! Let me tell you, and you can't tell in the pictures, but LC is tiny!! Her arms and shoulders seems so skinny. On her show she seems in shape and normal sized, but no, in person she is little! Well Tami and I got up there and I said, "Welcome to Memphis", she said thanks. I asked if she got to try any bbq since she arrived, she asked one of her publishers/assistants and they told her they tried Rendezvous. She said she liked it. I told her we were on our way down that way to see Wicked, and she replied, "Is that a cool club?" We explained it was the Broadway play, Wicked...And I think our time was up after that..I'm kinda bummed I didnt get any better pictures.

Once we got downtown, we got a drink at Majestic and hurried in for the show. Wicked was awesome!! It was so cool to hear the story behind the Wizard of Oz. It explained a lot of things. I will say it was pretty girlie, it was all about friendship and when I was explaining it all to Tony, I think he was glad it ended up being a girls night. So glad Christine got this all together for us! I costumes were beautiful, the acting, dancing and singing was amazing!

The Musical About Love

Went to see The Color Purple on Wednesday. It was great. My only complaint was the length, but I think some of that was from my soreness from working out and the tiny Orpheum leg room. I have to admit I haven't seen the entire movie and it is one of Tony's favorites. So now, I forsure will catch up and see it. Latoya London from American Idol was in it, but the lead, Celie, played by Kenita Miller, had one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard live. We ate at Majestic before, and it was crazy busy, so the service could have been better..but over all we had a great night and if you can I would recommend you seeing The Color Purple.

Even though Oprah is the producer and I'm a little mad at her...

We are going to see this tonight at the Orpheum. I gave Tony the tickets for Valentine's Day, it's one of his favorite movies...

It was and Elle of a Time!

We saw Legally Blonde at the Orpheum last Wednesday. Before the show, six of us met at Bluefin. I had some delicious red fish. The $5 Special Martini was a Caramel Apple Martini, I loved it and had 2. We had a lot of fun catching up and having our girl time. It was soon time to walk over to the Orpheum for the show. Brenda and Julie met us there after Arby's so they made the group 8. We bought our tickets the day they went on sale, so we had pretty good ones down low, pretty cool for a large group too! The show could not have been cuter or pinker! All the colors of the costumes, especially all the PINK! I do love the color pink and they sure used it. It was a way over the top version of the movie, even the Bend and Snap.  All the sorority stuff, the college stuff, it really brought back some fun memories. The girl that was cast as Elle was amazing. When you watched her up on stage, you would forget it wasn't Reese Witherspoon. She had an amazing voice and was a great actress. I think most all of us loved this show. It was an amazing time with the girls! I think everyone needs their girl time, and I sure love to have mine. After the show, Loren, Courtney and I got dessert and coffee at Majestic. We didn't realize the cast party was there and got to see all of the cast come in without their make up and cute clothes. I barely could recognize who was who.
