Dolphins in Nashville...

We went to the Titans/Dolphins game in Nashville last weekend and got to catch up with Gibril, Tony's college roommate. We had not seen him in probably a year, it seems like everytime we are in Miami, he's in Atlanta and when we are in Atlanta he's not there. I even ran into Jason Allen, Tony's other roommate when I checked us in the hotel. Good to see old friends. We had a great dinner at Demo's downtown. I had a wonderful steak and pasta combo that they are known for. We were teasing Gibril bc he was so cold on our 4 block walk to the restaurant. Must be nice to be in sunny Miami now :)

We had some good food at the brewery on the way to the game, gosh I was so already stressing about how cold it was going to be.

Well, as I expected we were 3 rows from the very top. I hate that they give the visiting team such lousy seats. I mean we weren't really cheering either way, just when Gibril did good and well that's right we needed them to stop Chris Johnson, which they did for all purposes that we needed for Fantasy Football.

We saw "The Flame" or whatever he calls himself. I like that even though the Titans are a newer team, they have these crazy fans..

Glued to FantasyCast

Yep, Brindle Invasion (us) are in the Memphis Ballers finals for Fantasy Football. We are playing the Hudmuffins (Katie and Michael) and can't stop staring at FantasyCast on ESPN. Tony and I are both in the kitchen standing at the counter watching our score. We have all players in for the early games now except for Michael Crabtree who was a new addition to our roster this week. We benched my Persian fave TJ Houshmanzadeh in favor of Crabtree and I'm kinda sweating about it. Money on the line here...money that would come in handy for a new King Size bed we are saving up for :)

UPDATE: Halftime of Sunday Night Football and we are only up by 9. They have Miles Austin and Fred Davis with the second half to play and Adrian Peterson 2moro night :( Atleast we made all the correct decisions on our roster that we could, no one on our bench blew up or anything. So we did all we could do...we need Shannon to put a Turf Toe hex on their players!

Gotta Stop Chris Johnson

In Nashville for Titans/Dophins game...Titans are my local team, but the Dolphins Tony's childhood fave...plus we need Gibril and the Dophin's D to stop Chris Johnson so Shannon's Fantasy Team won't beat us!!  Go Fins! :) Oh and Go Vince Young on our bench :)

Halfway through Fantasy Football..

Last night we had a great crowd at Rain for MNF Follies. It really is a great time with $15 beer buckets (6), 2 for 1 Sake, and roll specials. Not to mention prizes, last week I won this stupid "Bowling for Soup" CD, who they heck are they anyway!? This week MAJOR upgrade, I won Lady Gaga's CD. Tony got a "Where the Wild Things Are" Tshirt and a 107.5 coozie. Maney and the 107.5 crew do a great job to keep the crowd into the game and make it a lot more fun than just watching the game. We actually pick a team who we want to 'follie' or sack, create a penalty, etc.  So Brindle Invasion is in 5th place tied with 4 other teams with a second place record behind the Hudmuffins and Shannon's team name of the week..I think its Chug-A-Lug.

Nike: We have no deal with Vick

Wow, I knew it was too terrible of news..Need to write letters supporting them now..how quickly I change my views!

Might have to think about buying some new Nikes...

Nike has resigned Michael Vick.  ProFootball Talk agrees especially in this economy, this is crazy. For example, TO doesn't even have a shoe deal as other many top name players. This really pisses me off, like everyone tried to 'look' like they were doing the right thing, and now its no big deal...And this is just awful, the Eagles don't allow free speech??

Fantasy Football time...

Well it officially kicked off on Thursday, but we didn't have anyone playing in our money league and this is the first year we are doing two leagues. Today will play Can't Stand Ya, who is Avery and Billy Ratliff's team in our Player's Ball league. The Memphis and OB Ballers league (ugh we need to change the stupid name) started out as a local couples league and it basically still is. We did an online draft and these are the pictures from it. The Player's Ball league consists of mainly former UT players and there are 20 teams divided into 4 divisions, it will be interesting bc its our first time picking our entire team as well as a coach!

Julie and Mike solo without there better halfs draft alone. Team Taint Fantasy versus Team Jenkins.

The Hudmuffins and The Tizmanian Devils

Jessica with baby Jack and Jennifer with baby Emma couldn't miss the draft and even had matching outfits although they were there to best the draft players.

Our first opponent Can't Stand Ya (Avery) and last years big winner Buckin Ballers-Ballistic Tip Bullets, ooop now Need More Cowbell (Shannon)

The ladies of Fantasy Football with Jack :)

Sean of Smokey's Bandits and Bryce "BK" Key of the BK Broilers

Julie did great drafting on her own this year..

Watch out Charlotte!

According to Pro Football Talk...Vick will be in the stands for their game against the Carolina Panthers..

"In our view, Vick is making the trip to Charlotte primarily because the reaction to him hasn't been nearly as negative as many thought it would be.  And if the Eagles believed in August that the reaction to him wouldn't have been negative in Indianapolis, Vick would have been there, too."

Kinda strange to me the 'general' population is over it all..I sure have not forgotten and still waiting on something from him about how sick and demented what he did was.  They showed him on ESPN talking to youth in Phili. He just keeps talking about bad decisions and being influenced...not being a leader...JUST SAY IT VICK..you are/were a sicko. It is so getting on my nerves! Bad decisions are picking the wrong thing for dinner, being a follower is wearing a bad trend that everyone is wearing...get real!

Football Reality....Child Please!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cincinnati Bengals..been a fan of Hard Knocks from the Baltimore Ravens days. This is REAL reality, no staged crap like the normal reality 'crap' I am ADDICTED to. Chad Ochocinco is so funny, I wish they would show more of him. Someone make me a Tshirt with "Child Please" on it!! PLEASE! Tank Johnson's little girls are ADORABLE! I highly recommend watching if you like football and like to see what's "behind the helmet'. And if you have HBO.

The TO Show is my other fave Football Reality show, although it is a little staged and I HATED the first episode. It's basically about TO and his two publicists/assistants, Mo and Kita. They are ok, but major HATERS on every girl TO dates. I would NEVER act like they do, I swear, when one of my guys brings around someone questionable, who cares? I mean there is no ring involved yet. I told DS that we should of had a reality show. It would have been way more exciting to watch. We have had some great times!!  I can think of one wild time in the Red Room where I was the best wing man (woman) ever with two models that were more into eachother than him..whew..if there only was a camera around! :) Same night Kid Rock was in there and anyone know I take 1000's of pics but NEVER of celebs in a club, I was taking pics of us and Kid Rock with his greasy hair and overalls came and stuck his hand in my face..hello, I wasn't even aiming your way..whatever..anyway, The last two episodes of the TO Show have been better and I'm more into it now...Its on VH1 if  you care to watch..

No Vick at Dick's

Glad to hear that Dick's has decided NOT to sell Michael Vick's jersey. Again, he did his time and has a job now, but let's not promote him to kids as a role model, so I agree with Dick's doing this. I'm still waiting on him to make me change my mind and see what good he is/can doing/do. Still waiting, waiting on you Vick..60 Minutes just didn't cut it.

Won't be cheering for the Eagles this year...

Vick signs a two year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles today..Knew this would eventually happen, but its still so strange a team really signed him.

"Use me as an example for your dreams..."

That's what Michael Vick said to a group of kids at a Hampton University basketball camp. So the part about killings dogs violently and going to prison should be dreamt about by kids..talk about a nightmare! He then said " He let someone who didn't have my best interests at heart take it all away from me" Ok, so I have tried not to keep commenting because the inevitable is going to happen. He will play, he did do his time, there is not much that can be done about it. I read daily what is going on, what teams are interested, the reports go back and forth. But to blame a LIFETIME of dogfighting and more specifically the 6 years he was in the NFL and should have known better, AND was making INCREDIBLE money..he blames that on one of his boys!? Wow, talk about peer pressure. A man I've never met, yet highly respect, Tony Dungy has become a mentor of Vick's and believes he is remorseful. But is he really? I keep saying to myself talking to kids and using himself as an example NOT to dogfight or be involved in illegal gambling, was more around what I was expecting..but this is not it. This is depressing.

Also along the same topic on ESPN E:60 last night I lost all respect for Lisa Salters. Not that I had a lot for her in the first place, but I always give it up to women doing anything in sports. For her to say before the piece on Donte', " I hate to go there, but Michael Vick didn't kill anyone, he did his time......" Michael Vick did kill dogs on purpose, and on top of that he was gambling illegally, why do some not understand this out there and in the media? Lisa Salters needs to educate herself before speaking on a nationally televised show such as this. Acting like killing dogs is no big deal and STILL talking about it like its no big deal is unacceptable!!! They need to send her on assignment covering Parkour

McNair's Assumed Killer was Persian!

Wow, Tony and I were driving home last night from the Peabody and he said to look up on my phone about Steve McNair and it released the name of the girl who was shot with him and it said Sahel Kazemi. Immediately I said that is a Persian name, sure enough this morning reading up on it, her ex is quoted in the Tennessean as saying Kazemi's mom was from Iran and was killed when Kazemi was 9. She had moved to Nashville from Jacksonville, FL. I know a few Persians down there, I wonder if they knew her or her family..so sad for McNair's family and four kids...so sad!!

Phenomenal Four Celebrity Bowling Tournament

Friday night we went to Bartlett Lanes to support the "Phenomenal Fours" efforts for their foundation event. The 'Four' are Mike McKenzie, Marcus Bell, Reggie Howard and DeAngelo Williams all University of Memphis alums. We had a good time, but being 'in the business' I kept having ideas how I would have changed it around and done it different for them. Don't get me wrong, it was done pretty well, I'm just a perfectionist at these type things, I may have to make some suggestions :) Chris brought in some Red Bull and Vodka, my favorite drink, so that was nice to have instead of pitchers of beer. After bowling Tony and I went to Rain for more food and drinks, not the best idea with me having a 5k in the morning.

T.O. the first to go on Superstars!?

Terrell Owens loses the obstacle course to David Charvet and Dan Cortese!!?!? David Charvet that is married to Brooke Burke and was on Baywatch and Dan Cortese from 1992 MTV Sports!?!  Yes, good looking guys, but to beat T.O!?! Who I thought was one of the best athletes around...crazy! Tony we forsure aren't drafting him in our Fantasy Football league, he did us wrong last year as it was...Unbelievable!

How hot are these pics of Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush! They are just the hottest couple!! They took these for a new spread in GQ.
