We'll be there too! No tailgating for me though, the Grove is far beyond my scope of tailgating. Too much for my brain to handle :) But when we walk thru after the game, we see tons of tents left behind, where people leave chairs, tables, etc alone. Usually there are lots of people who tailgate all day and don't attend the game, and they seem to watch out for their neighbor's things.
Apparently a lot of people higher security to sit in their tents during the game. Not so much to keep people from stealing, but to keep the asshole campus cops from pouring your alcohol out. I don't know if a lock would help or not. FYI: they have pretty odd rules like you can have liquor but no beer in The Grove., so take some cups if you plan on drinking beer.
Thanks ladies!! Come find us all in our orange if you want and have a drink with us. The guy we paid for our tent is giving us cooler we found out...not sure about the lock or not. Gotcha on the cups for beer..so weird!! I think we are going to be near the walk of champions..hope that is a good spot. And we are leaving at 7am!
Near the walk of champions could be one of about 3,000 tents :) It's the most insane mess I have ever seen! Traffic into town is terrible, since it's all 2 lane roads and parking is almost nonexistent. It's no Knoxville, that's for sure!!!!!! We usually try to get in late, when traffic is better, and hoof it to the stadium from pretty far out :)
Go Vols! I don't know if I have the guts to wear orange though!!
The main reason I started this blog is to show you some insight into my life and show how normal 'girly' girls like me own the most wonderful breed on the planet. For those scared, confused, or misinformed about Pit Bulls, see that I am just like you and these two boys are my babies. If one person learns something about Pit Bulls from me, I have succeeded. I am a Bellydancing, Jazzercising, Trekking, Boot Camper that loves her fiance and her 2 Pit Bulls dearly. I am a University of Tennesee Grad (twice) and a die hard Vol Fan, no other college teams for me. I am very opinionated and want to save all the homeless dogs in Memphis and around the world...well one dog at a time. Oh and I am also in search of the best bbq in Memphis, by the way.. I am also a small business owner managing the lifestyles of the rich and famous. It's fun and it pays the bills :)
