Oscar Red Carpet Dresses I didnt like..

I mean this one wasn't so bad, but kinda Star Trek meets the Middle East for me. I'm sure she coulda found something better..

Faith, you are not representing Nashville in a good way. What's up with the lace print pantyhose!?

Her dress was ok..but I had to put her on here bc her skin looked so bad in HD and I love SJP! Come on...would Carrie let that go? Garnier is not working..

Great color, great cut, awful swirly things on the boobs...why would they put those on there? Extra fabric?

Two words..IRON IT!

My Top 4 Faves on the Red Carpet last night..

Love this fit and flare dress on Elizabeth Banks. Love the fit, the color, I just love it all. I could wear this!

Wow, no one ever does a floral or a print, and I love this sweetheart with a gorgeous flare out. The colors are perfect.

I wanna be Demi Moore when I grow up and look like this..this dress matches her skin, and again another fit and flare that I loved.

This could be a wedding dress for the right woman, darn, I already have mine or I might have gone out for this one..good look J-Lo!

Oscar Red Carpet Faves

She so doesn't look like her parents are polygamists here. This dress goes well with her skin and her hair looks great!

She has a fab body and this color is great for her, she looks more grown up than she normally does.

Very flattering for her body, the silver flower accents look great where they are placed.

I am not crazy about the flower in her hair, but it is a tribute, so I can go with it. This shape, cut and color looks great on her.

Wow, I love red and I love this rich red on her, she looks super hot!

I know its a little crazy, different, but I really like it! I like the color on her and the cut of this poufy bottom dress. Reminds me of tissue paper pomanders..

This is It, well it was IT...

We saw This is it, Michael Jackson's last few months in a documentary last night. It was really fantastic. A few of my friends made jokes about us going, but if you are a fan, its a must see. Tony really enjoyed it too. You get to see all of his performances, not in costume, but it seems like his everyday clothes are his costumes. Orange skin tight pants with a turquoise shirt (kinda Beat It), glitter gold pants, a gold over sized blazer.. I don't know where he used to shop, but some of the outfits were crazy. Anyway, there are some great scenes where he is being such a perfectionist with his musicians and production staff. It's amazing how great this show would have been. He totally still had it at 50! His moves are just amazing! He just pops and twerks and moves around so amazingly and you can tell he is totally thinking about the song, the sound, the moves, the audience reaction, its really amazing. I think the movie runs through Thanksgiving and I do think its a must see for any fan of him or of dance and performance. And..its really sad at one point I just had to stop and think he's really gone..no more of this great music and performance...sad..sad...

Couples Retreat

We saw it Friday night, and if you aren't watching football all day like us..go see it. It is sooo funny. Vince Vaughn is the best and actually Kristin Davis was really good too. I still see her as Charlotte, but it worked in this film. Faizon Love, you won't know his name, but he's been in a ton of stuff..anyway he is HILARIOUS!!   And its not all funny and laughs..there are some serious relationship moments in it too. Make me wanna go to Bora Bora where they filmed it too :) The music is by AR Rahman who did Slumdog and it is great..a little "Jessie's Girl" was picked for the soundtrack too. Anyone down for Bora Bora with us?

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell

Ok, there were about 6 movies at the theatre that I wanted to see, I read all the descriptions to Tony. All I could find about "Beer in Hell" was bachelor party, wedding, comedy. We both agreed to go see it. Well....I wouldn't have picked this one considering all the other options. We haven't seen a movie in the theatre in about a month..This is TOTALLY a guys movie, sex, strippers, diarrhea..potty humor for sure! Overall, it was alright, just a little low budget and silly for me.

Groomsmen and NIck and Norah's

We watched two movies on Sunday that I had tivoed. Love doing this btw, I feel like we are getting our money's worth on having every single movie channel...

Groomsmen. Has anyone heard of this one? Came out in the summer of 2006, about guys getting together for their friends wedding..focuses on their relationships. Lots of people in the movie: Edward Burns (wrote it), John Leguizamo, Jay Mohr, Brittany Murphy, Jessica Capshaw..Kinda slow, sometime was off with it, it didn't really flow and they must have cut things out. Tony picked this one of the Tivo.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Came out in October 2008. Very cute movie..Kat Dennings and Michael Cera are such a cute pair! Alexis Dzenia (E's girl Ashley in this season's Entourage) is in it too. Follows this group of friends looking for a band (Fluffy) one night in NYC. Made me want to visit NYC and reminded me about staying up all night in high school/college. I picked this one off the Tivo and loved it!

Orange Camaro

I thought I was just going to 'cab' it around Miami, but then realizing I had a lot of stops to make I decided to rent a car. I have a corporate account with Avis and when I arrived at the counter, I was told they only had Camaro's. I didn't realize it was a 2010 Camaro with only 100 miles on it. Pretty cool I guess and I got to pick the orange color (Go Vols!). I also didn't realize that I would get stopped at every traffic light and stop sign to be asked...How do you like it? What kind of engine is that? Does it go fast? I just saw the movie, is it fun?..etc, etc. It was a fast fun car, but kinda hard to see out the back and really too small for Tony to drive. If I would have gotten yellow, I guess I would have been driving the official Transformer's car..but I do love my orange!

Pelham, Boleyn, Ninja Proposal

Saw 4 movies recently, 2 in the theatre and 2 at home. We have EVERY movie channel, so..I have to Tivo anything that sounds good to make sure we get our money's worth :)

Great action movie. Denzel isn't very attractive in the movie like he usually is, but John Travolta plays a mean guy well. I think its worth seeing, but a little long in parts and some scenes could have been deleted, but the movie is already short as it is..

OMG! Why did I not see this when it first came out!? Tony and I both loved it. Its based on a true story and the acting is amazing. Eric Bana is hot as the King! ..and its some crazy family drama, this story could totally be told in 2009 and made current.

Ok, yes we watched Ninja Cheerleaders! When I Tivoed it I read Trishelle's name and thought, what the heck, let's see what this is. Well its 3 college freshman that are cheerleaders and strip so they can get money to go to a better college, and at night they are ninjas. Bad acting, stupid story line, but like a train wreck we kept watching!

Love, love, loved The Proposal! Not a chick flick! Totally hilarious, we both loved it. Oscar from the Office is in it and steals the show, Sandra Bullock is totally hilarious too and Ryan Reynolds gets practically naked and looks super hot!

Yara Shahidi

So the new Imagine That Movie starting Eddie Murphy comes out today.  I don't know if I will see it, but his costar is half Persian! My dad and my Uncle Behrad keep me up to date on 'All Things/People Persian' and sent me a little bio on her. She is adorable and started her career in Gap and Guess ads to name a few and now at age 9 gets her first bigtime movie. This forsure looks like a cute movie for kids and maybe I'll see it on HBO or something. But I do think it is cool that she is half Persian and that we know a lot of Shahidi's in Knoxville :)

Lane the Lightening Bug Killer!

We had a great Saturday. I did two Jazzercise classes back to back. There is a promotion to do 60 classes (with a teammate) in 2 months and you get a REALLY cute pink and white polka dot bag with makeup case. So Courtney and I are really trying to make sure that we get it. I usually only go to Jazzercise 3 times a week, but I'm going more now. Tony played basketball with Brett and Shannon for about 3 hours, so we both got a good workout that morning. Thursday a shelf in my garage broke and the file cabinets where I keep one of my clients files were on top of it and fell and also broke. So I had paperwork all over the garage floor. So on top of the phone drama, I had this happen. It made me go through all the paperwork and reorganize that. I got most of it done yesterday afternoon, but some of it is still on the dining room table. And no, still no Blackberry, but I tracked it and will get it tomorrow. I swear I do not know how people text on phones that don't have keyboards. I sent a couple back when I got texts, but that's it. If you don't have a phone like a Blackberry or iPhone, you are missing out!

We went and saw The Hangover yesterday and it was soooooooo funny! GO SEE IT! I mean this is going to be one of those classics that everyone refers to. So many great lines and hilarious moments.  Makes me not want Tony to have a Bachelor Party! After the movie we went to Osaka and afterwards had some wine in the backyard.  It was the wine I got at the Big Orange Caravan silent auction. It was a pretty good Merlot. It had a great orange label and was called Screw Kappa Napa, and yep had a screw top. The weather was perfect and we had the best night just watching the dogs play and listing to music on our iPod.  Lane we discovered kills Lightening bugs! He catches them in his mouth spits them out and then paws at them while they flash and die. So sad...He did this for hours and it was hilarious, yet sad. I feel like I'm getting old sometimes bc that was a perfect night, a bottle of wine, cool evening and our dogs.

The Soloist

So we saw this Wednesday night. It wasnt so much what I thought it would be. It is a true story and I saw the story on 60 minutes so I had an idea, but there is a huge focus on homelessness and mental health issues. I learned that there are 90,000 homeless people in Los Angeles and most of the 'actor's used in the homeless scenes where in fact homeless.  Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. are extremely talented and deserve some accolades for their performances. The LAMP community was highlighted and I learned how much they do to end homelessness. It a must see, but it isnt light and funny really at all, pretty intense movie.

Obsessed

Tony and I just saw it. Wow, what a movie! I was kind of wondering how good it was because of the release date, you know not quite summer blockbuster season and way too early for awards season. But it was really worth seeing. Idris Elba really shows what an amazing actor he is because you begin to relate and really like him. Beyonce is decent in the movie, you feel for her bc of the situation, but she still isn't the best, best actress or anything. You get most of the story from the trailers, but there is so much more to the story that you can imagine. Ali Larter's character reminds me of a lot of girls in college that became obsessed with guys especially football players. I saw a lot of it, but not to this character's extreme. I never like to give away too much in my reviews, so I can't go into detail..but dang this is a must see!!! There is a great scene at the end between the two girls..wow intense!

What Happens In Vegas and Duplicity

Duplicity is a great Ocean's 11 Type movie that we just saw. I highly recommend this Julia Roberts/Clive Owen crime thriller. At first it was hard to follow, but that makes it good bc it is totally unpredictable! Our friend Engin came over yesterday to bring Tony a new humidor (yes all I need Tony to start a cigar collection, but thanks anyway Engin!) and he said he kept falling asleep and waking up and confused so he just went back to sleep in the movie. But that is Engin, he could fell asleep in the last James Bond movie we saw. That same night we watched What Happens in Vegas. I had been wanting to see it and HBO finally got it. It was good, but glad we watched it on HBO, fun with the Vegas scenes, but I'm not a huge Ashton Kutcher fan anymore. I don't think he and Cameron Diaz were a good match. But again it was fun to see all the scenes of Vegas...

Bollywood Oscars

Well I really wanted to dress up and have a party for the 81st Oscars, but after 4 nights in a row out on the town..I settled for sweatpants and a tshirt and Kelly and her corn dip :) Nothing fancy, but good company and a great awards show. Tony came in after the first hour, he had to get out of the house after my cleaning obsession so I could sit my butt on the couch and watch E!'s entire Red Carpet and Pre-Red Carpet coverage. I love to watch all the red carpet dresses and these are the ones I want in my closet:
Taraji P. Henson's dresses was gorgeous. A lot of this color done, but hers looks great on her skin tone.  Her hair looked great too. Not hard out here for a pimp no more.

Sarah Jessica Parker is Dior Haute Couture. I loved this dress. She looked like a modern day sexy princess. The light green color was very different. I loved the fitted bustier top part to"Carrie" it up!

Natalie Portman in Rodarte. She had a gorgeous tan that made the pink really stand out. Her hair was gorgeous too.

Kate Winslet's YSL dress looked fabulous on her, it was just a little odd, but I think that it was her night, so I wouldn't mind having this dress. Although her dress wasn't my fave, her hair and make up were perfection.

I wish Angelina Jolie would wear something other than black, but she looked so hot! She was rockin those Emeralds!

Ann Hathaway rocked that pale skin in the silvery Armani Prive dress. I would love to have that one.

I must say my favorite Oscar moment was the Bollywood Dance number and John Legend. Super weird how Peter Gabriel stepped out, but I would much rather see John Legend do the song from Wall-E anyway. I know some Bollywood dance and have always loved it. I've studied both Bollywood style and Bangra.  It seemed like everything Indian was hot last night. Slumdog winning 8 awards was wonderful, it was one of my favorite movies of all time, and I saw if before all the hype! I really wanted to get up and dance with them last night!

On the other hand I didn't love Beyonce and Hugh Jackman's performance and tribute to musicals. Absolutely no chemistry there. Although Vanessa Hudgens and Amanda Sigfried were very cute as her backups. Also I wasn't digging the fringe swinging in between Beyonce's legs.

I really liked Sean Penn's Best Actor speech. Some may criticize because he was too political, but I really appreciate what he had to say. He did speak out for gay rights and prop 8. He did say nice things about our new President. Dustin Lance Black wrote the screen play for MILK and also gave a touching speech to be who you are and also stood up for gay rights. I enjoyed his speech as well.  I like it when people speak their mind and say what they feel, even when it
is controversial.

Well, I'm glad I saw all those movies, the ones I didn't see didn't win, so I have more time since award season is over. I told Tony last night that one day I want to go to the Oscars, but I think I'd settle to wear a fabulous dress and go to one of the afterparties..

Oscar Winners Leaked?

UPDATE: Well obviously NOT! But they were kinda close...
