BRAT Diet

I'm still in bed with no energy, but the Dr has called back and I'm on a diet of Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast..fun, fun!! Whatever to make me feel better!!! I gotta get healthy for our big Garage Sale we are having on Saturday!!!

Expired Ranch?

Well today starts my third day in a row in bed with no energy, strength or appetite. It all began Friday night with some exiting plans to celebrate Brooke's birthday at Benihana. I have really been wanting to go to the new Benihana since it had burnt down months ago and reopened not too long ago. Brooke's birthday was Saturday and what better time to celebrate with everyone! Andrea and I met for Spinning at 4:30 so we could totally pig out on all the fried rice we could eat and not worry about it. After Spinning I was really hungry and thought I would eat some carrots I had just bought and I found some ranch for dipping in the fridge. Tony was laughing at me bc I was so hungry and he was actually eating a lot of the carrots too. Next, I get in the shower, feel fine..get out and all of a sudden I feel my stomach kinda churning and get a nauseous feeling. So I told Tony I was going to lay down for like 30 minutes so it would pass. Well it really didn't so I started getting ready and got sick in the sink, yes all those carrots in front of me again (gross I know). I thought it was a good thing bc I would start feeling better at this point, Tony goes and looks at the ranch and it was Best Before Feb 2, 2009. So yes expired ranch! I RARELY ever eat ranch, but for some reason it sounded good with carrots just to keep me full before all that yummy Benihana I was about to eat. Tony thinks we should cancel, but I swear I'm going to  be better now that I got those carrots and expired ranch out of my body. So we get in the car and go..I'm not feeling that great, but know once I get some fresh air I will be ok, well we are about to get off the exit and I get sick out the window of Tony's SUV. He pulls over and I'm insisting I'm ok, "Let me just bring Brooke her present". He is so irritated at me and keeps saying "No, No, we are going home!", but I beg that we are right by Benihana and I need to clean up in the restroom. We pull up at the same time as Brooke and Ray and they saw us on the side of 240! Ugh! So embarrasing! I give her the gift and go inside and clean up. Andrea and Shannon were at the bar and I explain that we can't stay. I swear I HATE to miss a party, especially one that I got together. I don't think Tony wanted to even come in, but he did and we actually took some pictures, not with my camera, it was still somewhere in the Sick-Mobile. Shannon took a bunch I"m sure my pale face will look great in all of them. So everyone gets seated, I'm so sad at this point, I really wanted to stay, but I know I need to leave. So we drive home and didn't make it the whole way before me throwing up in a church parking lot by our house. Once making it home getting sick again and again. I was to run at 5k Saturday morning and obviously had to miss it as well. Not to mention Lynne's Tattoo party Saturday night as well. I really don't know where Saturday and Sunday went. Thanks to Pedialite and Saltine Crackers, they were the only things I could consume. It is so strange not to have an appetite. Its been years since I have not felt like eating, I love to eat, even when I'm not hungry I cant eat. This is the worst feeling ever. Tony, Lennox and Lane have been great nurses. Tony has got to play his XBox quite a bit, but Lennox and Lane were loving being in the bed by my side. Lennox is very sensitive and knows when I'm upset and stays glued to me. Tony brought me my laptop on Saturday, just in case I wanted to blog. I didnt even feel like it! He did get silly and videoed me and the dogs Sunday night, no one better see that one! Thanks Tony! Thank goodness for the Keeping up with the Kardashian's marathon on E! yesterday, fun, mindless TV is great when you want to relax.  I have a call into my Doctor now waiting to find out what is wrong with me!!! Surely almost 3 days of sickness cant be blamed on expired ranch can it?

Slappin' Shannon!

When Shannon sent out an email requesting us to slap him, it was just too hard to pass up! He was entering a contest to win tickets to Austin, TX by making a creative video for Dogfish Head Beer. We went to Wasabi and did some filming and acting..check out all of our debuts...I know we all had fun with the slapping!

We're In!!

So last month Starbuck's started a promotion, "I'm In". They want everyone to commit 5 hours of service to their community. That weekend if you just committed 5 hours you got a free cup of coffee. Well all 80 dog walkers at the Humane Society obviously do this and more so we took a picture at my local Starbucks (my favorite one!) and made a poster promoting volunteering. If you want to volunteer and don't know how to start, The Humane Society has Orientations are the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm and the third Saturday of every month at 10am. I encourage everyone to volunteer and help out in your community! We are IN!

Splash It Bitches

We celebrated Julie's 33rd birthday at Elfo's. They moved about 8 months ago from their Midtown location where they just did lunch, to Germantown, where they just do dinner. What a wonderful place, we all had a great time. What do you expect from a Grisanti Family restaurant? I had the raviolis and they were wonderful. Chicken, pork, beef, spinach and eggs were all ground inside and although it sounds strange, it was delicious! I think everyone was pleased with what they had. They sat our group of 10 right next to the bar, actually the entire restaurant is centered around the bar, which I love that type of atmosphere. Lot's of people talking, interacting..it was great. I think Julie had a great birthday.

Jared's Chicken Parm, How wonderful does this look?

All of the girls ready to celebrate Julie's birthday!

Kelly and Julie couldn't contain themselves over Julie's gifts!

Ok this is the BEST receipt I have seen. We stayed after dinner and had some drinks..Tony complained that his Crown and Sprite had too much Sprite and made sure he ordered Crown with the 'SPLASH' of Sprite, so our awesome waiter Alex (you must ask for him if you go!) put this in on the ticket!

Where was the paparazzi!?!?

So I thought I had caught up with my posting, but I'm over a week behind on this one. Last Friday night we had the best Grizzlies tickets that I have EVER had. I bid on these at Wine, Women and Shoes and successfully won (bought) the tickets. Got a great deal on them too, considering these are $600 each! So I have sat on the floor, several times actually, but never center court like this. And since I have been, they have opened the Floor Seat Lounge, not to be confused with the Lexus Lounge. The Floor Seat Lounge is complimentary beer, wine and food until the end of the 3rd quarter. The food was actually really good..all Italian and I enjoyed my 5 glasses of wine :) Now, not only did we have center court seats, but we had one seat away from exactly center court, you know where the big Grizzlies head was. I kept thinking the paparazzi would be taking our picture and I kept sucking in and looking cute. So much pressure, you don't wanna look silly while you are down there. But I don't think anyone took pictures of us like the ones you see in US Magazine or People. But we had one of our best times together ever! I love to take it all in and people watch, and I discovered up close and personal how cute Rudy Gay is! Tony just really loves basketball and loved the seats, he's a major seat snob!

Line to get food in the Floor Seat Lounge and the huge projection TV.

Ok, so I thought just maybe he would get us on TV, but no :( Although several people did see the backs of our heads!

Tip Off, good shot, huh?

Grizz Girls, they actually did a good routine, the two girls in the front were cute, the rest, well..and where we sat at least we didn't have to see them doing their silly old school bootie dances during the game.

Close up, I was getting anxious bc no one else wanted to take our picture!

Ok how much more perfect could the half time show be!? These were shelter dogs that these guys rescued and made trick dogs!! They made me think of my friends Toni and Courtney they love these hearding types. Border Collies, Australian Shepherds..I just LOVED the half time show, I need to write a letter, they need to bring them back!

We were amazed at their tricks, the dogs were so fast, most of the time I missed them and didn't get them in the picture, but I did get a few..LOVED THIS!

I don't know where everyone was!? Most of these seats were kinda empty. Who can buy a pair $1200 a game and not show up!? Tony looks cute in the hat I got him for Christmas :)

Go Grizzlies!!

This was kinda a bootie routine, but they were together nonetheless..

Grizz

Rudy!! He is so cute!! Go Rudy!!

I couldn't stop taking pictures! I think Tony said this was the last one!

Ok, so after the game there was a gospel concert and a local group came out to sing before and who walks up, but our girl Leslie!! Right in front of us! Go Leslie!!

Mary Mary was there for the gospel concert and they were REALLY good! Very contemporary gospel with an RandB feel..loved them!

The most dramatic Rose Ceremony Yet!-TalkShow FollowUp

Ok, so I just finished up watching all the talk shows commentary on the Bachelor. I did say I was obsessed. I am working today, just fast forwarding through these shows to see the good parts. So, Kimmel had Jason on, as well as NKOTB, so that was cool. Jason says he and Melissa spent Christmas together, that was not 6 weeks ago?! More like 8 or 9 weeks depending on how you count it, so this makes me wonder what is going on with the show and how real is it all? And Jason claims that he and Melissa were broken up when he broke up with her, so she knew it was over, so why was she wearing the ring? Kimmel was hilarious saying he could be like Flava Flav and how he picks a new girl each season! NKOTB was pretty good, I liked their new song. Remember I am fast forwarding to all the good parts. I had to go to trekking this morning and didn't get to see Jason on GMA, so I Tivoed that too and I guess I just missed Jason, bc he wasn't on what I got. So I had Regis and Kelly next, I was sure Kelly had some good commentary. Well she didn't even watch, but Regis just kept making fun of Jason for crying so much. I agree, never seen a guy cry that much! Ok, that wasn't even worth taping. Now on to the View, I know Elizabeth with have something to say. The only time I want to hear what she has to say..Elizabeth is fired up! Ok, again not worth me Tivoing..Well time to move on and do some work..

UPDATE: Ok after watching ATFR Part 2, Monday night's episode was 6 weeks ago, so the engagement was 12 weeks ago. I don't know why they try to make things so confusing!!

The most dramatic Rose Ceremony Yet!

Ok, so is anyone else out there as obsessed with The Bachelor as I am? Not Jason, this particular one, but just the show in general!? OMG! So Jason picked Melissa, which kinda shocked me. She is much cuter and had that wonderful bubbly personality, but seemed so immature and not ready to parent Jason's son Ty. Maybe hang out and be his friend, but be this perfect wife and mom!? I will say the ending was so cute, they all jumped in the pool, laughing so happy the three of them..But so many questions. Molly was seen majorly teasing her hair before the final rose ceremony, then she had this side bang that kept getting in her face. Jason kept pushing that hair back when he was dumping her. Was it the hair? Molly kept telling Jason he made a mistake. I guess she was right bc Jason dumped Melissa on the After the Final Rose Show. They hung out and 'spent the holidays' together  (what holidays?? President's Day, Valentine's Day, The Inauguration?) for the last 6 weeks and he wasn't in love with her anymore..just Molly? Was Molly's reaction when she was dumped foreshadowing.."You have made a mistake!". So when they bring Molly out she says she is still in love with him. Ok, almost everytime the dumped girl comes out, they say they are getting over him, or are over him. But she is still hanging on to an engaged man that dumped her? Then Chris Harrison after he knows Jason still loves her eggs her on with "What would you do if he still loved you?". Hello!? Is this fake or what!? Then they bring out Jason, and he says he loves her and its so fake, she 'acts' shocked then they start making out the the couch! WTF!? Ok, I want to be sucked into the whole wow, they are really in love and lasted through his engagement, but its seemed so strange and Molly kept looking away the whole time Jason was confessing his love for her! Well Molly looked horrible AGAIN, brown dress with a plastic black headband and I'm sure teased up hair. Ok, BOTH of the final girls look MUCH better with their hair up then down. Molly's hair looked like she had slept then woke up then put this black headband on. I wish they much happiness, but poor Melissa, and for that matter DeAnna. Dang, they advertised her coming back trying to get Jason and he just flat out said he was in love with two other women. Kinda pitiful if she flew all that way over there, then after less than 5 minutes she was told no way. Well just more questions..so sad about Melissa and her only explanation was the 'Chemistry just changed'. I'm still going to watch and for sure watch the After the Final Rose-Part 2, tonight when I guess the other girls will weigh in on it all...whew! It was the most dramatic Rose Ceremony yet!

New CIty Ordinances that Need to be passed

If you know me, you know I love my animals, especially dogs. They don't have a voice, so we are their voice. These are WONDERFUL Ordinances that will really help the overpopulation of dogs. The Commercial Appeal did an article on this today.  They are actually separated into two ordinances. One is to ban the roadside sale of animals. So you wont see people set up on the side of the road or in front of WalMart with puppies in a cage and begging you to buy them. When in actuality they are trying to make a quick buck and don't care about these puppies. And most of the time these puppies end up sick and don't live our their lives. The other is a Spay-Neuter Ordinance which requires dogs and cats to be spayed or neutered by the time they are six months old. The best part of this of this ordinance requires breeders to get a $1000 license from the city. This helps the good legitimate breeders to separate themselves from the roadside crazies and the puppy mills. There really is no reason to not have your dog fixed unless you are a legitimate breeder. Cancer rates go down for males as well as aggression in both males and females. Things happen and your dog and accidentally gets out, then there are 8-10 puppies to worry about, the problem is, most people don't worry about the puppies and throw them out to fin for themselves. I see it everyday and every time I volunteer at the Humane Society. The Humane Society only has room for the hurt, sick and injured and cannot take in every stray off the street. Every stray on the street does not deserve to die in a shelter. Please contact your City Council Members and ask them to please pass these ordinances.

Sunday Snowday

This is the 3rd snow we have had this year, but by far the largest. It started yesterday afternoon and kept through the night. I knew the boys would be up early to get out there and play in it. Us too, we got out there and threw some snowballs of course. Its so bright, sunny and pretty outside. The boys are acutally out there now snooping around checking it all out before it melts. Suppossed to be warm again my Wednesday. I dont understand this back and forth warm/cold thing that is going on, but oh well, its kinda fun. Nice weather to be lazy and catch up on some Tivo.
