I voted for one of the 25 Mayoral Candidates

So I went and early voted on Friday at the AgriCenter. My last time to vote in the 'city' for now since we are moving from Cordova (city) to Lakeland (county).  No lines, no wait, all the poll workers were extremely friendly. I've been trying to keep up with things, but it is so overwhelming to look at a ballot with that many candidates! Whew! I wasn't dead set on any one candidate, but I never miss out on voting and to be honest I was between a couple of them. Mainly I have been trying to follow who is out there for the animals. Not many even have that on their agenda. I know I should be worried about taxes or schools..but I feel like those things are inevitable and sadly most people here send their kids to private schools unless they are in the county or can send them to one of the few good city school. Since we don't have kids, honestly I try not to even get wrapped up in all of that yet. I hate thinking that we will have to pay for their schooling..oh well another day to worry about that. I have to worry about someone passing a BSL (breed specific legislation) banning Pit Bulls. But unfortunately I haven't really heard if any are thinking of it, as it no one is really talking about animal rights. The person I voted for, I'm thinking won't do this (pass BSL)..and basically that's how I voted, well and I believe this is the right person for the job. Very curious to see how this all plays out..

I went last Saturday and was also happy to see that there was no wait {after waiting 2 hours in the last mayoral race}. No one locally says too much about the animal issues. I've heard that Carol Chumney has some ties with animal rights, but I'm not a fan of her style of dealing with things on the City Council. Steve Cohen is a big supporter of animal bills and often sponsors many of them. He is coming for election soon.

Ya..Carol Chumney came to an Animal Cruetly Taskforce meeting I attended, but at the end and really only handed out info and stickers...I don't know how much of a chance she has..heck I think since there are so many candidates, the votes will be all over the place...

You voted for Prince Mongo. It's ok to say it.

Hahaha..no, but it did trip me out to see Silky on the ballot! And really Jerry Lawler at that, even though I can see him more than Silky!
